Pinpoint Test E: The Illuminated Entry Is Inoperative When Using The Remote Transmitter/Keypad

- E1 CHECK THE DOOR LOCKS
- Using the RKE transmitter or remote keypad, lock and unlock the doors.
- Do the locks operate correctly using the RKE transmitter or remote keypad?
- Yes : GO to E2.
- No : REFER to HANDLES, LOCKS, LATCHES AND ENTRY SYSTEMS to continue diagnosis of the RKE system.
- E2 CHECK THE OPERATION OF THE INTERIOR LAMPS
- Open the driver door.
- Do the interior lamps illuminate?
- Yes : GO to E3.
- No : Go to PINPOINT TEST A .
- E3 CHECK FOR CORRECT VEHICLE SECURITY MODULE OPERATION
- Disconnect all the vehicle security module connectors.
- Check for:
- corrosion
- pushed-out pins
- Connect all the vehicle security module connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
- Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
- Is the concern still present?
- Yes : INSTALL a new vehicle security module. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES . TEST the system for normal operation.
- No : The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.
