Removal and Installation

NOTE: If a heater core leak is suspected, the heater core must be leak tested before it is removed from the vehicle. Component Tests and General Diagnostics

1. Remove the heater core and evaporator core housing.
2. Remove the LH floor duct.
1. Remove the screw.
2. Remove the clip.
3. Release the plastic retaining clip.






3. Remove the RH floor duct.

1. Remove the screw.
2. Remove the clip.
3. Release the plastic retaining clip.






4. NOTE: RH side shown, LH side similar.

Remove the heater core and cover.
1. Remove the screws.
2. Remove the clips.
3. Release the plastic retaining clips.






5. Remove the heater core retaining screw.






6. Remove the heater core.






7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Clean and lubricate the coolant hoses with plain water only, if needed.
