Pinpoint Test I: Transaxle Control Module (TCM)

NOTE: Refer to COMPONENT TESTING to check the TCM relay.

I1 CHECK FUSE B42 (15A)
- Key in OFF position.
- Check fuse: Power distribution box (PDB) Fuse B42 (15A).
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes : GO to I2.

No : REPAIR circuit CBP42 (GN) for a short to ground. TEST the system for normal operation.
I2 CHECK CIRCUIT CBP42 (GN) FOR AN OPEN
- Disconnect: PDB Fuse B42 (15A).
- Disconnect: TCM Relay.
- Measure the resistance between output side of PDB fuse B42 (15A) and TCM relay pin 1 PDB side.

- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes : GO to I3.

No : REPAIR circuit CBP42 (GN). TEST the system for normal operation.
I3 CHECK RE406 (GY/VT) FOR AN OPEN
- Measure the resistance between TCM relay pin 2, PDB side and ground.

- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes : GO to I6.

No : GO to I4.
I4 CHECK TCM GROUND CIRCUIT
- Disconnect: TCM C2352b.
- Measure the resistance between TCM relay pin 2, PDB side and TCM C2352b-16.

- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes : GO to I5.

No : REPAIR circuit RE406 (GY/VT). TEST the system for normal operation.
I5 CHECK TCM GROUND SUPPLY CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Disconnect: TCM C2352a.
- Measure the resistance between TCM C2352a-1 and C2352a-9 and ground.

- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes : INSTALL a new TCM. TEST the system for normal operation.

No : REPAIR circuit GD120 (BK/GN). TEST the system for normal operation.
I6 CHECK FUSE C16 (15A)
- Check fuse: PDB Fuse C16 (15A).
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes : GO to I8.

No : GO to I7.
I7 CHECK CIRCUIT SBB16 (VT/RD) FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Disconnect: PDB Fuse C16 (15A).
- Measure the resistance between output side of PDB fuse C16 (15A) and ground.

- Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?
Yes : GO to I9.

No : REPAIR circuit SBB16 (VT/RD). TEST the system for normal operation.
I8 CHECK CIRCUIT SBB16 (VT/RD) FOR AN OPEN
- Measure the resistance between PDB fuse C16 (15A) and TCM relay pin 3.

- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes : GO to I10.

No : REPAIR circuit SBB16 (VT/RD). TEST the system for normal operation.
I9 CHECK TCM POWER CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Disconnect: TCM C2352a.
- Measure the resistance between TCM relay pin 5 and ground.

- Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?
Yes : INSTALL a new TCM. TEST the system for normal operation.

No : REPAIR circuit CE613 (WH/VT). TEST the system for normal operation.
I10 CHECK TCM POWER SUPPLY FOR AN OPEN CIRCUIT
- Measure the resistance between TCM relay pin 5, PDB side and TCM C2352a-2 and C2352a-10.

- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes : GO to I11.

No : REPAIR circuit CE613 (WH/VT). TEST the system for normal operation.
I11 CHECK FOR POWER FROM SMART JUNCTION BOX (SJB)
- Key in ON position.
- Measure the voltage between TCM C2352a-3 and ground.

- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
Yes : INSTALL a new TCM. TEST the system for normal operation.

No : REPAIR circuit SBP07 (WH/RD). TEST the system for normal operation.
