ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) MODULE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) LIST

DTC Description Source Perform Test
B1317 Battery Voltage High ABS Module Jump starting the vehicle could cause DTC B1317. If it has been jump started recently CLEAR the DTCs. Go to Pinpoint Test A .
B1318 Battery Voltage Low ABS Module Jump starting the vehicle could cause DTC B1317 or B1318. If it has been jump started recently CLEAR the DTCs. Go to Pinpoint Test A .
B1342 ABS Module Failure ABS Module CLEAR all DTCs. If the DTC is still present, INSTALL a new anti-lock brake system (ABS) control module. REFER to Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module and CARRY OUT the self-test with the brake pedal not applied.
B1485 Brake Pedal Input Circuit Battery Short ABS Module
NOTE: DTC B1485 will be set if the self-test is carried out with the brake pedal applied.
Go to Pinpoint Test E .
C1095 ABS Hydraulic Pump Motor Circuit Failure ABS Module Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, CLEAR the DTCs and DRIVE the vehicle at least 10 km/h (6.25 mph). If DTC C1095 is retrieved again, go to Pinpoint Test D . If DTC C1095 is not retrieved again, go to Inspection and Verification - Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Components .
C1096 ABS Hydraulic Pump Motor Circuit Open ABS Module
NOTE: DTC C1096 may be caused when the ABS hydraulic pump motor is commanded ON without the valve power relay commanded ON, when using the ABS active command mode.
Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, CLEAR the DTCs and DRIVE the vehicle at least 10 km/h (6.25 mph). If DTC C1096 is retrieved again, go to Pinpoint Test D . If DTC C1096 is not retrieved again, go to Inspection and Verification - Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Components .
C1145 RF Wheel Speed Sensor Input Circuit Failure ABS Module Go to Pinpoint Test B .
C1148 RF Wheel Speed Sensor Coherency Fault ABS Module If DTCs C1145, C1155 or C1230 are present, they must be diagnosed first. Go to Pinpoint Test B . If DTCs C1145, C1155 or C1230 are not present, turn the ignition switch to the OFF position. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, CLEAR the DTCs and DRIVE the vehicle at least 10 km/h (6.25 mph) for at least one minute. If the DTCs are retrieved again, go to Pinpoint Test C . If the DTCs are not retrieved, go to Inspection and Verification - Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Components .
C1155 LF Wheel Speed Sensor Input Circuit Failure ABS Module Go to Pinpoint Test B .
C1158 LF Wheel Speed Sensor Coherency Fault ABS Module If DTCs C1145, C1155 or C1230 are present, they must be diagnosed first. Go to Pinpoint Test B . If DTCs C1145, C1155 or C1230 are not present, turn the ignition switch to the OFF position. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, CLEAR the DTCs and DRIVE the vehicle at least 10 km/h (6.25 mph) for at least one minute. If the DTCs are retrieved again, go to Pinpoint Test C . If the DTCs are not retrieved, go to Inspection and Verification - Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Components .
C1186 ABS Power Relay Open ABS Module Go to Pinpoint Test A .
C1187 Brake Fluid Level Sensor Input Open Circuit ABS Module CHECK the electrical connector at the brake fluid level switch for correct installation. RECONNECT the connector if not secured correctly. If connector is secured correctly, go to Pinpoint Test G .
C1194 ABS Outlet Valve Coil LF Circuit Failure ABS Module CLEAR all DTCs. If DTC C1194 is retrieved again, INSTALL a new anti-lock brake system (ABS) module. REFER to Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module and CARRY OUT the self-test with the brake pedal not applied.
C1198 ABS Inlet Valve Coil LF Circuit Failure ABS Module CLEAR all DTCs. If the DTC is still present, INSTALL a new anti-lock brake control module. REFER to Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module and CARRY OUT the self-test with the brake pedal not applied.
C1210 ABS Outlet Valve Coil RF Circuit Failure ABS Module CLEAR all DTCs. If the DTC is still present, INSTALL a new anti-lock brake control module. REFER to Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module and CARRY OUT the self-test with the brake pedal not applied.
C1214 ABS Inlet Valve Coil RF Circuit Failure ABS Module CLEAR all DTCs. If the DTC is still present, INSTALL a new anti-lock brake control module. REFER to Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module and CARRY OUT the self-test with the brake pedal not applied.
C1229 Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Coherency Fault ABS Module If DTCs C1145, C1155 or C1230 are present, they must be diagnosed first. Go to Pinpoint Test B . If DTCs C1145, C1155 or C1230 are not present, turn the ignition switch to the OFF position. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, CLEAR the DTCs and DRIVE the vehicle at least 10 km/h (6.25 mph) for at least one minute. If the DTCs are retrieved again, go to Pinpoint Test C . If the DTCs are not retrieved, go to Inspection and Verification - Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Components .
C1230 Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Input Circuit Failure ABS Module Go to Pinpoint Test B .
C1233 LF Wheel Speed Sensor Signal Incorrect ABS Module If DTCs C1145, C1155 or C1230 are present, they must be diagnosed first. Go to Pinpoint Test B . If DTCs C1145, C1155 or C1230 are not present, go to Pinpoint Test C .
C1234 RF Wheel Speed Sensor Signal Incorrect ABS Module If DTCs C1145, C1155 or C1230 are present, they must be diagnosed first. Go to Pinpoint Test B . If DTCs C1145, C1155 or C1230 are not present, go to Pinpoint Test C .
C1237 Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Signal Incorrect ABS Module If DTCs C1145, C1155 or C1230 are present, they must be diagnosed first. Go to Pinpoint Test B . If DTCs C1145, C1155 or C1230 are not present, go to Pinpoint Test C .
C1246 ABS Outlet Valve Coil Rear Circuit Failure ABS Module CLEAR all DTCs. If the DTC is still present, INSTALL a new anti-lock brake control module. REFER to Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module and CARRY OUT the self-test with the brake pedal not applied.
C1254 ABS Inlet Valve Coil Rear Circuit Failure ABS Module CLEAR all DTCs. If the DTC is still present, INSTALL a new anti-lock brake control module. REFER to Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module and CARRY OUT the self-test with the brake pedal not applied.
C1266 ABS Valve Power Relay Circuit Failure ABS Module CLEAR all DTCs. If the DTC is still present, INSTALL a new anti-lock brake control module. REFER to Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module and CARRY OUT the self-test with the brake pedal not applied.
C1414 Incorrect Module Design Level ABS Module VERIFY correct ABS module installation. For four wheel drive (4WD) vehicles, VERIFY that the 4WD ABS module is installed. For rear wheel drive (RWD) vehicles, VERIFY that the RWD ABS module is installed. If the correct ABS module for the correct vehicle is installed, CHECK the instrument cluster for correct configuration. REFER to MODULE CONFIGURATION .
For 4WD vehicles, if the instrument cluster is configured correctly, go to Pinpoint Test F .
For RWD vehicles, if the instrument cluster is configured correctly, INSTALL a new ABS module, REFER to Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module . CLEAR the DTCs. CARRY OUT the self-test with the brake pedal not applied.
C1949 (4WD only) G-Sensor Circuit Open ABS Module CLEAR all DTCs. If the DTC is still present, INSTALL a new ABS module. REFER to Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module and CARRY OUT the self-test with the brake pedal not applied.
C1950 (4WD only) G-Sensor Signal Failure ABS Module Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, CLEAR the DTCs and DRIVE the vehicle at least 10 km/h (6.25 mph) for at least one minute. If the DTC is still present, check the mounting bracket, bolts and module for correct installation. If the installation is correct, INSTALL a new ABS module. REFER to Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module and CARRY OUT the self-test with the brake pedal not applied.
U2050 No Application Present ABS Module CONFIGURE the ABS module. REFER to MODULE CONFIGURATION . CLEAR the DTCs. RETRIEVE the DTCs and VERIFY successful module configuration. If DTC U2050 is retrieved again, INSTALL a new ABS module. REFER to Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module . CLEAR the DTC. REPEAT the self-test.
U2051 One or More Calibration Files Missing or Corrupt ABS Module CALIBRATE the ABS module, follow the directions on the scan tool. CLEAR the DTCs. CARRY OUT the ABS module self-test. RETRIEVE and RECORD any DTCs. If DTC U2051 is retrieved again, INSTALL a new ABS module. REFER to Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module . CLEAR the DTC. REPEAT the self-test.
