Symptom Chart

NOTE: The Self-Test Diagnostics must be carried out before proceeding to SYMPTOM CHART .
NOTE: New speed control diagnostic software is available on some diagnostic tools.
NOTE: Refer to the SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS (Taurus) or SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS (Sable) for connector numbers stated in the pinpoint test.
SYMPTOM CHART

  • Flash code 1 - system pass

  • Test Passed.
  • Flash code 1 - with last switch pressed and no dynamic pull occurs at the throttle
  • Speed control actuator cable.
  • Speed control actuator.
  • Flash code 1 - dynamic pull occurs at throttle and speed control inoperative
  • Circuitry.
  • Speed control actuator.
  • Flash code 2 - brake pedal position (BPP) switch or circuit failure
  • Battery junction box (BJB) fuse:
    • 4 (40A)
    • 12 (60A)
  • Smart junction box (SJB) fuse:
    • 14 (15A)
    • 57 (10A)
  • Brake pedal position (BPP) switch or circuitry.
  • Speed control actuator.
  • Flash code 3 - deactivator switch or circuit failure
  • Battery junction box (BJB) fuse:
    • 4 (40A)
    • 12 (40A)
  • Smart junction box (SJB) fuse:
    • 14 (15A)
    • 57 (40A)
  • Deactivator switch or circuitry.
  • Speed control actuator.
  • Flash code 5
  • Speed control actuator.
  • INSTALL a new speed control actuator. REFER to SPEED CONTROL ACTUATOR . TEST the system for normal operation.
  • The speed control is inoperative - no flash codes
  • Smart junction box (SJB) fuse 57 (10A).
