Variable Assist Power Steering (VAPS) Module

Removal and Installation

CAUTION: Electronic modules are sensitive to static electrical charges. If exposed to these charges, damage may result.

1. Pull out the lower instrument panel insulator in the following sequence.
1. Remove the pushpins.
2. Pull out the lower instrument panel insulator.
2. Remove the lower instrument panel insulator.
1. Disconnect the power point.
2. Disconnect the courtesy lamp.
3. Remove the lower instrument panel insulator.





3. Remove the variable assist power steering (VAPS) module.
1. Remove the screws.
2. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
3. Remove the module.





4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
