Removal And Installation

NOTE: The right side lower instrument panel cover has been removed for clarity. The Steering Effort Control Module (SECM) is located on a bracket behind the carpet between the firewall and right side kick panel.

1 W520412 Steering Effort Control Module (SECM) nuts (2 required)
2 3C579 SECM
3 - SECM electrical connectors (2 required) (part of 14401)
  1. Position the carpet aside.
  2. Disconnect the 2 Steering Effort Control Module (SECM) electrical connectors.
  3. Remove the 2 nuts and the SECM.
    • To install, tighten to 4 Nm (35 lb-in).
  4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
