PINPOINT TEST AA: POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) READ ONLY MEMORY (ROM) FAILURE

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- incorrect PCM calibration
- PCM

AA1 : DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) P0605

- DTC P0605 is set when a ROM concern is detected in the PCM
- Ignition ON, engine OFF.
- Carry out the KOEO self-test. Quick Test Description
- Is DTC P0605 present?

AA2 : FLASH THE PCM

- Flash the PCM. REFER to Diagnostic Methods, Flash Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EEPROM), Programming the VID Block for a Replacement PCM. Programming and Relearning
- Clear the DTCs.
- Carry out the KOEO self-test. Quick Test Description
- Is DTC P0605 present?

AA3 : CHECK FOR CORRECT PCM OPERATION

- Disconnect all the PCM connectors.
- Visually inspect for:
- pushed out pins
- corrosion
- Connect all the PCM connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
- Carry out the PCM self-test and verify the concern is still present.
- Is the concern still present?
