Powertrain Control Module (Pcm): Installation

  1. Install the PCM and the bolt.
    • Tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).

  2. NOTE: Fully seat the powertrain control module (PCM) electrical connectors prior to latching them or damage to the connector pins may occur.

  3. Connect the PCM electrical connectors and latch.
  4. NOTE: ACL  side shown, engine side similar.

  5. Position the ACL  outlet pipe and tighten the clamps.
  6. Connect the coolant hoses to the ACL  outlet pipe.

  7. Position the power steering reservoir bracket and install the power steering indicator. Install the 3 bolts.

  8. Install the 4 power steering reservoir bracket bolts.

  9. Position the upper air deflector and install the 6 pushpin retainers.

  10. Restore the module configuration. Carry out the module configuration restore steps of the Programmable Module Installation (PMI) procedure. For additional information, refer to MODULE CONFIGURATION .
  11. NOTE: If the Instrument Cluster (IC) or the PCM (or both) is being replaced, the parameters must be reset in both modules or the vehicle will experience a Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) no start. This will occur even if the vehicle is not equipped with PATS  .
  12. Carry out the Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) Parameter Reset. For additional information, refer to ANTI-THEFT - PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM (PATS) .
