SYNC System

The SYNC system consists of the following:
- APIM
- SYNC-specific steering wheel controls
- Microphone (integral to the auto-dimming interior mirror)
- USB port and cable
- Audio input jack
SYNC is a hands-free communications and entertainment system that allows the following interactions:
- Send and receive phone calls via a Bluetooth-enabled phone
- Send and receive text messages via a Bluetooth-enabled phone
- Connect media devices (such as an iPod® or USB flash device) in order to play audio files
- Play media files via a Bluetooth-enabled audio device
- Produce vehicle health reports
- Initiate an emergency call (eCall) when the air bags deploy
- Provide hands-free access to traffic reports, turn-by-turn driving directions, business listings, news, sports, and weather
The GPSM works with the SYNC system to provide vehicle location on vehicles not equipped with navigation, as the vehicle location must be known for the traffic, directions, and information features to operate correctly.
Not all features are available with every phone.
