Pinpoint Test

  1. INSPECT THE FRONT BUMPER COVER FOR DAMAGE
    1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. REFER to LIFTING POINTS .
    2. Inspect the front and back of the front bumper cover for damage.
      • Is the front bumper cover damaged? 
      1. Yes:  REPAIR or INSTALL a new front bumper cover as necessary. If installing a new front bumper cover, REFER to BUMPER COVER - FRONT .
      2. No:  GO to on page 2.
  2. INSPECT THE Cruise-Control Module (C-CM) AND FRONT BUMPER COVER FOR DEBRIS, MOISTURE, SNOW OR ICE
    1. Inspect for debris, moisture, snow or ice on the front and back of the front bumper cover and sensor.
      • Is the Cruise-Control Module (C-CM) obstructed or blocked? 
      1. Yes:  CLEAN the front bumper cover and radar sensor portion as necessary.
      2. No:  GO to on page 2.
  3. INSPECT THE Cruise-Control Module (C-CM) BRACKET FOR CORRECT MOUNTING
    1. Inspect the Cruise-Control Module (C-CM) for loose mounting or damage at the 3 mounting points.
      • Is the Cruise-Control Module (C-CM) bracket loose or damaged? 
      1. Yes:  Correctly INSTALL the bracket or INSTALL new grommets as necessary. ALIGN the sensor. REFER to CRUISE CONTROL MODULE (C-CM) (WITH SENSOR) ADJUSTMENT .
      2. No:  GO to on page 2.
  4. CARRY OUT THE VERTICAL AND HORIZONTAL ALIGNMENT
      NOTE: Remove the front bumper cover to carry out the vertical alignment procedure.
    1. Carry out the alignment procedures for the Cruise-Control Module (C-CM). REFER to CRUISE CONTROL MODULE (CCM) (WITH SENSOR) ADJUSTMENT 
      • Is the concern still present? 
      1. Yes:  INSTALL a new Cruise-Control Module (C-CM). REFER to CRUISE CONTROL MODULE (C-CM) .
      2. No:  The system is operating correctly. The condition was caused by misalignment.
