Pinpoint Test
- VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN
- Ignition ON.
- Verify there is an observable symptom present.
- Is an observable symptom present?
- Yes: GO to 2 on page 2.
- No: The system is operating normally at this time. The Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
- CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK
- Ignition ON.
- Using a scan tool, perform a network test.
- Does the Head Up Display (HUD) module pass the network test?
- Yes: GO to 3 on page 2.
- No: REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE T .
- RETRIEVE THE RECORDED Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) FROM THE Cruise-Control Module (C-CM) AND THE Head Up Display (HUD) MODULE SELF-TESTS
- Using a scan tool, perform the Cruise-Control Module (C-CM) and the Head Up Display (HUD) module self-tests.
- Is Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U3003:16, Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U3003:17 or U3003:1C recorded?
- Yes:
For the Cruise-Control Module (C-CM), REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE Q or REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE R .
For the Head Up Display (HUD) module, REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE F .
- No: GO to 4 on page 2.
- Using a scan tool, perform the Cruise-Control Module (C-CM) and the Head Up Display (HUD) module self-tests.
- RECHECK THE Cruise-Control Module (C-CM) Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)
- Using a scan tool, clear the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
- Repeat the Cruise-Control Module (C-CM) self-test.
- Is Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U0158:00 still present?
- Yes: INSTALL a new Head Up Display (HUD) module. REFER to HEAD UP DISPLAY (HUD) MODULE . CLEAR the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). REPEAT the self-test. If Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U0158:00 is still present, INSTALL a new Cruise-Control Module (C-CM). REFER to CRUISE CONTROL MODULE (CCM) .
- No: The system is operating correctly at this time. The Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
NOTE: If new modules were installed prior to the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) being set, the module configuration can be incorrectly set during the Programmable Module Installation (PMI) or the Programmable Module Installation (PMI) may not have been carried out.
