Pinpoint Test
NOTE:
Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U3003:17 may be stored in the module memory due to past battery charging or vehicle jump starting events.
- CHECK FOR Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U3003:17, B1317, B1676, P0563 or P0626 SET IN OTHER MODULES
- Ignition ON.
- Using a scan tool, perform self-test.
- Retrieve the Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (CMDTCs) from all modules.
- Is Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U3003:17, B1317, B1676, P0563 (Powertrain Control Module (PCM)) or P0626 (Powertrain Control Module (PCM)) set in more than one module?
- Yes: REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE A to diagnose an overcharging condition.
- No: GO to 2 on page 2.
- CHECK THE BATTERY VOLTAGE
- Turn off all the interior/exterior lights and accessories.
- Start and run the engine at approximately 2,000 Revolutions Per Minute (RPM) for 3 minutes while monitoring the battery voltage.
- Does the battery voltage rise to 15.5 volts or higher?
- Yes: REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE A to diagnose an overcharging condition.
- No: GO to 3 on page 2.
- RECHECK FOR Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U3003:17
- Turn the engine off.
- Ignition ON.
- Using a scan tool, clear the Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (CMDTCs).
- Perform the Cruise-Control Module (C-CM) self-test.
- Is Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U3003:17 present?
- Yes: INSTALL a new Cruise-Control Module (C-CM). REFER to CRUISE CONTROL MODULE (C-CM) .
- No: The system is operating normally at this time. The Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) may have been set previously during battery charging or while jump starting the vehicle.
