Pinpoint Test
NOTE:
If the scan tool is unable to communicate with the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) or access the transmission Parameter Identifications (PIDs), REFER to
INTRODUCTION - GASOLINE MODELS
.
- Read and record all Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)
- Install the scan tool and record all Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
- Was Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) B1319:11 set?
- Yes: GO to 2 on page 2.
- No: The issue may not be the Brake Shift Interlock Actuator (BSIA) system. REFER to SYMPTOM CHART: EXTERNAL CONTROLS .
- Install the scan tool and record all Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
- Check Body Control Module (BCM) FUSE 18 (10A)
- Ignition OFF.
- Remove the Body Control Module (BCM) fuse 18 (10A).
- Check the Body Control Module (BCM) fuse 18 (10A).
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
- Yes: GO to 3 on page 2.
- No: GO to 4 on page 2.
- Check the Body Control Module (BCM) for an internal short
- Disconnect the Body Control Module (BCM) C2280B.
- Inspect for damaged or pushed out terminals.
- Install a new fuse.
- Did the fuse fail?
- Yes: INSTALL a new Body Control Module (BCM). REFER to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - WITH INTELLIGENT ACCESS (IA) or REFER to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - WITHOUT INTELLIGENT ACCESS (IA) .
- No: GO to 4 on page 2.
- Check the Brake Shift Interlock Actuator (BSIA) power circuit for a short to ground
- Disconnect the selector lever C2008.
- Inspect for damaged or pushed out terminals.
- Measure the resistance of circuit CET53 (BU/OG) from the selector lever C2008-3 to ground.

- Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?
- Yes: INSTALL a new selector lever. REFER to SELECTOR LEVER .
- No: REPAIR circuit CET53 (BU/OG) for a short to ground. CLEAR the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC). TEST the system for normal operation.
