DTC B1D23: Overheat Sensor: Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2013 Ford Fiesta. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The power steering control module (PSCM) uses a thermistor to monitor the internal temperature of the electronic power assist steering (EPAS) gear. This DTC appearing by itself does not indicate a fault condition in the steering system. Diagnose all other EPAS DTCs before diagnosing B1D23:68.

DTC B1D23:68 (Overheat Sensor: Event Information) - This DTC sets if the internal temperature of the EPAS gear exceeds a predetermined threshold. When this DTC is set steering assist will be reduced, but not removed.
