Front Disc Brake System - Exploded View: Installation

- Install the new spring clips and brake pads to the brake caliper anchor plate.
- Apply equal amounts of specified lubricant to the brake caliper-to-brake pad contact points.
- Position the brake caliper onto the brake caliper anchor plate and install the 2 brake caliper guide pin bolts.
- Tighten to 72 Nm (53 lb-ft).
- Install the wheel and tire. For additional information, refer to WHEELS & TIRES article.
- If necessary, fill the brake master cylinder reservoir with clean, specified brake fluid.
- Apply brakes several times to verify correct brake operation.
NOTE:
Do not allow grease, oil, brake fluid or other contaminants to contact the pad lining material, or damage to components may occur. Do not install contaminated pads.
NOTE:
If installing new brake pads, make sure to install all new hardware and lubricant supplied with the brake pad kit. Refer to the brake pad instruction sheet when applying lubricant.
NOTE:
Make sure the caliper pin boots are correctly seated to prevent corrosion to the guide pins.
NOTE:
Make sure that the brake hose is not twisted when the caliper is positioned on the anchor plate to prevent abrasive damage.
