Removal and Installation

NOTE: It is not necessary to remove the Audio Control Module (ACM) to retrieve the part number. For additional information, refer to AUDIO CONTROL MODULE (ACM) SELF-DIAGNOSTIC MODE .
    NOTE: Module configuration is required when a new ACM is being installed.
  1. Upload the ACM configuration information to the scan tool. For additional information, refer to MODULE CONFIGURATION SYSTEM article.
  2. Remove the floor console cupholder by prying upward with a suitable tool (such as a flat-bladed trim remover) to release the clips.
  3. Remove the LH and RH floor console finish mouldings by prying upward with a suitable tool (such as a flat-bladed trim remover) to release the clips.
    1. Start at the rear and work forward.
    2. Slide the finish moulding downward to disengage the top-front clip and remove the finish moulding.
  4. Remove the 2 screws and position the selector lever trim panel rearward.
    • Disengage the front clips.
  5. Remove the 4 screws and the ACM/Front Controls Interface Module (FCIM) as an assembly.
    • Disconnect the electrical connectors and the antenna cables.
  6. Remove the 4 screws and separate the ACM from the FCIM.
  7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
