Symptom Chart

SYMPTOM CHART

Condition Possible Sources Action
  • The courtesy lamps flash on and off
  • The Body Control Module (BCM) is not configured correctly.
  • CARRY OUT the Programmable Module Installation (PMI) for the BCM. REFER to MODULE CONFIGURATION . TEST the system for normal operation.
  • The courtesy lamps do not illuminate with a door open
  • Wiring, terminals or connectors
  • Door latch
  • BCM
  • The courtesy lamps do not illuminate with the liftgate open
  • Wiring, terminals or connectors
  • Liftgate latch (manual liftgate)
  • Liftgate/Trunk Module (LTM) (power liftgate)
  • BCM
  • The courtesy lamps do not illuminate from the instrument panel dimmer switch
  • Front Lighting Control Module (FLM)
  • OPEN a door and OBSERVE the courtesy lamps.
    • If the courtesy lamps do not illuminate, GO to PINPOINT TEST C .
    • If the courtesy lamps illuminate, INSTALL a new FLM. REFER to EXTERIOR LIGHTING . TEST the system for normal operation.
  • One or more interior courtesy lamp is inoperative
  • Fuse
  • Wiring, terminals or connectors
  • Interior lamp
  • BCM
  • One or more puddle/scuff plate lamp is inoperative
  • Wiring, terminals or connectors
  • Puddle lamp
  • Scuff plate lamp
  • Exterior mirror
  • BCM
  • All the courtesy lamps stay on continuously
  • Wiring, terminals or connectors
  • Door latch
  • Liftgate latch (manual liftgate)
  • LTM (power liftgate)
  • BCM
  • The interior courtesy lamps stay on continuously
  • Wiring, terminals or connectors
  • BCM
  • The puddle lamps stay on continuously
  • Wiring terminals or connectors
  • BCM
  • One or more demand lamp is inoperative
  • Fuse
  • Wiring, terminals or connectors
  • Interior lamp
  • BCM
  • The battery saver does not deactivate after time-out
  • Wiring, terminals or connectors
  • Interior lamp
  • BCM
  • An individual ambient lighting LED is inoperative/does not cycle through all color combinations
  • Ambient lighting harness
    NOTE: The LEDs are not serviceable separate from the harness.
  • REPAIR or INSTALL a new ambient lighting harness in question. TEST the system for normal operation.
  • The ambient lighting is inoperative
  • Wiring, terminals or connectors
  • HVAC module
  • The ambient lighting does not cycle through all color combinations
  • Wiring, terminals or connectors
  • HVAC module
