Transfer Case Shift Lever: Removal

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
- Shift the transfer case into 4H.
- Remove the shift lever boot and bezel. Slide the boot and bezel upward on the shift lever.
- Remove the 2 screws and the inner shift lever boot and bracket. Slide the boot upward on the shift lever.
- Remove the shift lever bolt that attaches the shift lever to the transfer case control. Remove the shift lever and the bezel and boot as an assembly.
- Disconnect the shift linkage from the lower shifter arm.
- Remove the transfer case control pivot bolt and the transfer case control bracket bolt, then remove the transfer case control assembly. Discard the pivot bolt.
