Side Obstacle Detection (SOD) Module: Removal

  1. NOTE: If installing a new module, it is necessary to upload the module configuration information to the scan tool prior to removing the module. This information must be downloaded into the new module after installation.

    Upload the module configuration information from the Side Obstacle Detection Control Module - Left (SOD-L) or Side Obstacle Detection Control Module - Right (SOD-R) into the scan tool by following the scan tool on screen instructions.

  2. Remove the rear bumper cover. REFER to BUMPER COVER - REAR .
  3. Remove the Side Obstacle Detection Control Module - Left (SOD-L) or Side Obstacle Detection Control Module - Right (SOD-R).
    1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
    2. Remove the Side Obstacle Detection Control Module - Left (SOD-L) or Side Obstacle Detection Control Module - Right (SOD-R) bolt.
