Pinpoint Test
NOTE:
If new modules were installed prior to the DTC being set, the module configuration may be incorrectly set during the PMI or the PMI may not have been carried out.
- VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN
- Ignition ON.
- Verify there is an observable symptom present.
Is an observable symptom present?
- Yes: GO to 2 .
- No : The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
- CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK
- Ignition ON.
- Using a scan tool, perform network test.
Does the BCM pass the network test?
- Yes: GO to 3 .
- No : REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE I : The Body Control Module (BCM) Does Not Respond To The Scan Tool.
- RETRIEVE DTCs
FROM THE BCM SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform BCM self-test to retrieve DTCs .
Is DTC U3003:16 or U3003:17 present?
- Yes:
For DTC U3003:16, REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE H
.
For DTC U3003:17, REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE I .
- No : GO to 4 .
- RETRIEVE DTCs
FROM THE ATCM SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform ATCM self-test.
Is DTC B11D9:16 or B11D9:17 present?
- Yes: REFER to Diagnostic Routine F : B11D9:16 and B11D9:17
- No : GO to 5 .
- RECHECK THE ATCM DTCs
- Using a scan tool, clear ATCM DTCs .
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Repeat the ATCM self-test.
Is DTC U0140:00 still present?
- Yes: GO to 6 .
- No : The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
- CHECK FOR DTC U0140:00 SET IN OTHER MODULES
- Using a scan tool, clear all CMDTCs .
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Retrieve CMDTCs from all modules.
Is DTC U0140:00 set in more than one module?
- Yes: INSTALL a new BCM. REFER to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - WITH INTELLIGENT ACCESS (IA) or BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - WITHOUT INTELLIGENT ACCESS (IA) .
- No : INSTALL a new ATCM. REFER to All Terrain Control Module (ATCM) .
