Pinpoint Test

NOTE: If new modules were installed prior to the DTC being set, the module configuration may be incorrectly set during the PMI or the PMI may not have been carried out.

VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN
1. Ignition ON.
2. Verify there is an observable symptom present.
Is an observable symptom present?
1. Yes: GO to 2 .
2. No : The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK
1. Ignition ON.
2. Using a scan tool, perform network test.
Does the ABS module pass the network test?
1. Yes: GO to 3 .
2. No : REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE B : The Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module Does Not Respond To The Scan Tool.
RETRIEVE DTCs FROM THE ABS MODULE SELF-TEST
1. Using a scan tool, carry out ABS self-test to retrieve DTCs .
Is DTC U3003:16 or U3003:17 present?
1. Yes: For DTC U3003:16, REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE A .
  For DTC U3003:17, REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE P .
2. No : GO to 4 .
RETRIEVE DTCs FROM THE ATCM SELF-TEST
1. Using a scan tool, perform ATCM self-test.
Is DTC B11D9:16 or B11D9:17 present?
1. Yes: REFER to Diagnostic Routine F : B11D9:16 and B11D9:17
2. No : GO to 5 .
RECHECK THE ATCM DTCs
1. Using a scan tool, clear ATCM DTCs .
2. Wait 10 seconds.
3. Repeat the ATCM self-test.
Is DTC U0121:00 still present?
1. Yes: GO to 6 .
2. No : The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
CHECK FOR DTC U0121:00 SET IN OTHER MODULES
1. Using a scan tool, clear all CMDTCs .
2. Ignition OFF.
3. Ignition ON.
4. Wait 10 seconds.
5. Retrieve CMDTCs from all modules.
Is DTC U0121:00 set in more than one module?
1. Yes: INSTALL a new ABS module. REFER to ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) MODULE .
2. No : INSTALL a new ATCM. REFER to All Terrain Control Module (ATCM) .
