Steering Angle Sensor Module (SASM)

DTC Description Action
C1B00:49 Steering Angle Sensor: Internal Electrical Failure
  • CHECK vehicle service history for recent service actions related to the SASM  . This DTC  will set due to incomplete or improper flash programming procedures. If there have been recent service actions with the SASM  , REPEAT the programming procedure as directed by the diagnostic scan tool.
  • If there have been no recent service actions, CLEAR the DTC  , CYCLE the ignition, CARRY OUT the SASM  self-test. If the DTC  returns, INSTALL a new SASM  to correct the failure to retain software data.

    REFER to: STEERING ANGLE SENSOR MODULE (SASM) .

C1B00:61 Steering Angle Sensor: Signal Calculation Failure
  • This DTC  indicates that part of the SASM  has failed internally. CLEAR the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). REPEAT the self-test.
  • If the DTC  returns, INSTALL a new SASM  .

    REFER to: STEERING ANGLE SENSOR MODULE (SASM) .

C1B00:62 Steering Angle Sensor: Signal Compare Failure
  • This DTC  indicates that part of the SASM  has failed internally. CLEAR the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). REPEAT the self-test.
  • If the DTC  returns, INSTALL a new SASM  .

    REFER to: STEERING ANGLE SENSOR MODULE (SASM) .

C1B00:64 Steering Angle Sensor: Signal Plausibility Failure CLEAR the DTC  . TEST DRIVE the vehicle and CARRY OUT at least 1 left turn and 1 right turn. CARRY OUT a SASM  self-test. If the DTC  returns, INSTALL a new SASM  .

C1B00:81 Steering Angle Sensor: Invalid Serial Data Received
  • This DTC  indicates that part of the SASM  has failed internally. CLEAR the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). REPEAT the self-test.
  • If the DTC  returns, INSTALL a new SASM  .

    REFER to: STEERING ANGLE SENSOR MODULE (SASM) .

C1B00:85 Steering Angle Sensor: Signal Above Allowable Range
  • SET the front wheels to the straight ahead position.
  • Using a diagnostic scan tool, OBSERVE the SASM  steering wheel angle (SW_ANGLE) PID  .
  • If the PID  displays 0 degrees, CLEAR the DTC  , REPEAT the SASM  self-test. If the DTC  returns, INSTALL a new SASM  .

    REFER to: STEERING ANGLE SENSOR MODULE (SASM) .

  • If the PID  displays more than 0 degrees, SET the ignition to OFF. REMOVE the SASM  ,

    REFER to: STEERING ANGLE SENSOR MODULE (SASM) .

    Leave the electrical connector connected. SET the ignition to ON (this will set Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) in multiple modules). Manually ADJUST the SASM  until the SW_ANGLE PID  displays 0 degrees. SET the ignition to OFF. INSTALL the SASM  . CLEAR all Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (CMDTCs) in all modules.

C1B00:87 Steering Angle Sensor: Missing Message The SASM  sets this DTC  when the module transmits information on the HS-CAN  but does not get a response from any other module.
REFER to: COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK .
C1B00:92 Steering Angle Sensor: Performance or Incorrect Operation CLEAR the DTC  . TEST DRIVE the vehicle and CARRY OUT at least 1 left turn and 1 right turn. CARRY OUT a SASM  self-test. If the DTC  returns, INSTALL a new SASM  .
REFER to: STEERING ANGLE SENSOR MODULE (SASM) .
C1B00:96 Steering Angle Sensor: Component Internal Failure
  • This DTC  indicates that part of the SASM  has failed internally. CLEAR the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). REPEAT the self-test.
  • If the DTC  returns, INSTALL a new SASM  .

    REFER to: STEERING ANGLE SENSOR MODULE (SASM) .

U0001:88 High Speed CAN Communication: Bus Off
  • The module could not communicate on the network at a point in time. The fault is not currently present since the module had to communicate with the diagnostic scan tool to report this DTC  .
  • VERIFY the integrity of the connectors and wiring. Refer to SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS for additional information.
