REFRIGERANT OIL ADDING (WHEN NEW COMPONENTS ARE INSTALLED)

  Polyolester (POE) Oil Amount fl oz (ml) Method of Adding
After installing the A/C Compressor. Service compressor already contains 2 fl oz (60 ml) of oil. No oil matching is required. -
After installing the receiver/drier cartridge. 1fl oz (30 ml) plus the amount collected during refrigerant recovery. -
After installing the evaporator core, and the receiver/drier cartridge. 1fl oz (30 ml) plus the amount collected during refrigerant recovery. Inject to low-side service port during system charging.
After installing the condenser core. 2 fl oz (60 ml) Add directly to condenser core inlet or inject to low-side service port during system charging.
After installing/reassembling the thermostatic expansion valve. 0 fl oz (30 ml) plus the amount collected during refrigerant recovery. -
After installing a refrigerant Hose/Line. 1 fl oz (30 ml) plus the amount collected during refrigerant recovery(1). Inject to low-side service port during system charging.
After an O-ring Leak Repair. 1 fl oz (30 ml) plus the amount collected during refrigerant recovery(2). Inject to low-side service port during system charging.
After a service port leak repair. 1 fl oz (30 ml) plus the amount collected during refrigerant recovery. Inject to low-side service port during system charging.
After installing the high voltage battery coolant cooler. 0.5 fl oz (15 ml) plus the amount collected during refrigerant recovery. Inject to low-side service port during system charging.
(1) If an excessive amount of POE oil is lost due to a hose rupture/separation or other damage, the total system POE oil capacity must be added.
(2) The amount specified may be used for one or multiple O-ring leak repairs. Do not multiply the POE oil amount by the number of O-ring leaks being repaired.
