Body Control Module (BCM) - Push Button Start

The BCM determines the vehicle ignition mode based on the start/stop switch input, the BPP input (automatic transmission) or CPP input (manual transmission) and RFA module messages. The BCM communicates the ignition mode to the other modules over the Medium Speed Controller Area Network (MS-CAN) and High Speed Controller Area Network (HS-CAN). The BCM monitors the start/stop switch input and the ignition mode outputs, if a fault is detected in the ignition system, Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are set in the BCM. For information on the BCM.
