DTC Chart: Powertrain Control Module (PCM)

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2016 Ford F-150. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Diagnostics in this article assume a certain skill level and knowledge of Ford-specific diagnostic practices. Refer to: Diagnostic Methods .

DTC Description Action
P0555 Brake Booster Pressure Sensor Circuit This DTC sets if the information in the brake booster vacuum sensor message represents an electrically in-range sensor reading, but it is extremely out of practical limits with respect to the engine manifold vacuum. Examination and diagnosis of the vacuum harness should be performed.
Using a diagnostic scan tool, CARRY OUT the ABS module self-test. DIAGNOSE any ABS module Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
If there are no Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) present in the ABS module, INSPECT the vacuum hoses and connections for leaks and obvious signs of damage. CARRY OUT the Intake Manifold Vacuum Test. Refer to: Engine .
P0556 Brake Booster Pressure Sensor Circuit Range / Performance If PCM DTC P103C, P103D or P103E are present, DIAGNOSE that DTC before diagnosing P0556.
This DTC sets if the information in the brake booster vacuum sensor message represents an electrically in-range sensor reading, but it is falls short of expectations due to a moderate leak in the vacuum harness, a plug in the aspiration path, or an internal failure of the valve-aspirator.
P0557 Brake Booster Pressure Sensor Circuit Low This DTC sets if the information in the brake booster vacuum sensor message contains a value lower than allowed by the programmed set of parameters. This is most likely due to vacuum sensor concerns, wiring harness concerns or vehicle communication concerns.
Using a diagnostic scan tool, CARRY OUT the ABS module self-test. DIAGNOSE any ABS module Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
P0558 Brake Booster Pressure Sensor Circuit High This DTC sets if the information in the brake booster vacuum sensor message contains a value higher than allowed by the programmed set of parameters. This is most likely due to vacuum sensor concerns, wiring harness concerns or vehicle communication concerns.
Using a diagnostic scan tool, CARRY OUT the ABS module self-test. DIAGNOSE any ABS module Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
P0559 Brake Booster Pressure Sensor Circuit Intermittent This DTC sets if the information in the brake booster vacuum sensor message is outside of the programmed set of parameters. This is most likely due to vacuum sensor concerns, wiring harness concerns or vehicle communication concerns.
Using a diagnostic scan tool, CARRY OUT the ABS module self-test. DIAGNOSE any ABS module Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
P103C Aspirator Valve Control Circuit/Open GO to Pinpoint Test W
P103D Aspirator Valve Control Circuit Low GO to Pinpoint Test W
P103E Aspirator Valve Control Circuit High GO to Pinpoint Test W
P1501 Vehicle Speed Sensor Out of Self Test Range This DTC sets if the information in the wheel speed sensor message is outside of the programmed set of parameters. This is most likely due to wheel speed sensor concerns, wiring harness concerns, wheel speed sensor encoder concerns or vehicle communication concerns.
Using a diagnostic scan tool, CARRY OUT the ABS module self-test. DIAGNOSE any ABS module Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
