Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

With the ignition ON, the PSCM sends messages to the SECM over the HS-CAN 2 and through the SASM. If the SECM does not receive these messages within a certain time frame, the SECM sets a DTC. For information on the messages sent to the SECM by the ABS module, refer to the Network Message Chart in the Description and Operation in  Power Steering System  . 

SECM DTC FAULT TRIGGER CONDITIONS

DTC Description Fault Trigger Conditions
U0131:00 Lost Communication With Power Steering Control Module: No Sub Type Information Sets when the SECM detects any of the PSCM messages is missing. This can be due to a PSCM failure, a circuit failure on the HS-CAN2 or an excessive load on the network.
