System Operation: TCS

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2017 Ford F-150. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The TCS:

With the TOW/HAUL feature of the transmission activated, the transmission delays upshifts to reduce the frequency of transmission shifting and provides engine braking to slow the vehicle and assist the driver in controlling the vehicle when descending a hill.

For column shift equipped vehicles pressing the TCS switch a second time activates SPORT mode (if equipped) and the driver can manually shift the transmission to gears 1 through 6 using the SelectShift™ switch located on the selector lever. The TOW/HAUL icon on the IPC is extinguished and the SPORT icon on the IPC illuminates. Pressing the TCS switch a third time resets the system.
