Removal And Installation

All seats 

NOTE: For parts identification and location, refer to Seat - Exploded View, Second Row  in this service information.

  1. 1.

    Remove the seat. For additional information, refer to Seat - Second Row  in this service information.

  1. 2.

    Open the cushion cover.

      Release the clip and separate the strut.

    1. 2.

      Separate the J-clips.

    1. 3.

      Separate the hook-and-loop strips.

  1. 3.

    Release the clip and remove the strut.

  1. 4.

    NOTE: Typical cushion cover retainer shown, others similar.

    From under the seat, pull the 4 cushion cover retainers out from between the cushion frame and seat track.

  1. 5.

    Remove the cushion foam pad and cushion cover from the cushion frame.

  1. 6.

    Remove the manual recline handle.

      Locate the spring clip between the recline cover and handle.

    1. 2.

      Remove the spring clip and slide the manual recline handle off the shaft.

  1. 7.

    Pull to release the retainers and remove the outboard recliner outer cover.
    • Pull the strap through the cover.

    Remove the 3 outboard recliner inner cover screws.

  1. 9.

    Detach the outboard recliner inner cable.

      Detach the cable and cover.
      • For early build vehicles, using a 3.175 mm (0.125 in) drill, remove the rivet.
      • For late build vehicles, from behind the cable retainer, squeeze the ends together and separate.

    1. 2.

      Separate the cable end from the recliner.

  1. 10.

    Pull to release the retainers and remove the inboard recliner outer cover.

  1. 11.

    Remove the 3 inboard recliner inner cover screws.

  1. 12.

    Detach the inboard recliner inner cable.

    1. 1.

      Detach the cable and cover.
      • For early build vehicles, using a 3.175 mm (0.125 in) drill, remove the rivet.
      • For late build vehicles, from behind the cable retainer, squeeze the ends together and separate.

    1. 2.

      Separate the cable end from the recliner.

Seats with power lumbar 

  1. 13.

    Separate the electrical connector from the front outboard seat track foot (if equipped), remove the 2 screws and the cover.

  1. 14.

    Remove the 3 screws and separate the outboard outer cover.

  1. 15.

    Separate the pin-type retainer, disconnect the lumbar switch and remove the outboard outer cover.

All seats 

  1. 16.

    If equipped, separate the electrical connector from the front inboard seat track foot.

  1. 17.

    Remove the 6 nuts, route out the cables and separate the seat track from the cushion frame.
    • To install, tighten to 23 Nm (17 lb-ft).

  1. 18.

    To install, reverse the removal procedure.
