Occupant Classification Module - Power Seat Track: Removal

WARNING:
To reduce the risk of accidental deployment, do not use any memory saver devices. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury or death.
CAUTION:
Use care when handling the seat and track assembly. Dropping the assembly or sitting on a seat not secured in the vehicle may result in damaged components.
NOTE:
The air bag warning indicator illuminates when the restraints control module (RCM) fuse is removed and the ignition switch is ON. This is normal operation and does not indicate a restraints control module (RCM) fault.
NOTE:
The restraints control module (RCM) must be fully operational and free of faults before releasing the vehicle to the customer.
NOTE:
Repair is made by installing a new part only. If the new part does not correct the condition, install the original part and carry out the diagnostic procedure again.
- Center and raise the front passenger seat to its highest position.
- Depower the SRS. For additional information, refer to Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering and Repowering .
- Remove the front passenger seat. For additional information, refer to SEATING .
- Disconnect the occupant classification sensor (OCS) module electrical connector.
- Remove the 2 screws and the OCS module.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Install the front passenger seat. Do not prove out the SRS at this time. For additional information, refer to SEATING .
- Repower the SRS. Do not prove out the SRS at this time. For additional information, refer to Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering and Repowering .
- Carry out the appropriate procedure after installation of an OCS system component.
- If installing the original OCS system component, carry out the Zero Seat Weight Test. For additional information, refer to Occupant Classification Sensor (OCS) System Zero Seat Weight Test .
- If installing a new OCS system component, carry out the System Reset procedure. For additional information, refer to Occupant Classification Sensor (OCS) System Reset .
