Powertrain Control Module (PCM): Removal

NOTE: Make sure the ignition switch is in the OFF position prior to working on the electronic engine controls or the vehicle may be damaged.
Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
- Retrieve the module configuration. Carry out the module configuration retrieval steps of the Programmable Module Installation (PMI) procedure. For additional information, refer to MODULE CONFIGURATION .
- Disconnect the RH battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
- Detach the wiring harness retainer.
- Disconnect the PCM electrical connectors.
- Remove the 2 nuts and the PCM bracket.
- Remove the PCM.
