Removal and Installation

  1. Remove the RH cowl side trim panel to access the 4X4 control module. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .

  2. Disconnect the 4X4 control module electrical connector.
  3. Disengage the 4X4 control module and bracket assembly retaining pins from the mounting holes.
    • Discard the retaining pins.

  4. Remove the 4X4 control module and bracket assembly from the vehicle.
  5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • Install new retaining pins.
  6. NOTE: Failure to properly reconfigure the Active Torque Coupling (ATC) Bar Code information could result in driveline damage or driveability concerns.
    NOTE: The Active Torque Coupling (ATC) bar code can be found etched on the ATC wire harness connector.
  7. Using the scan tool, program the 4X4 control module for the correct ATC bar code using the ATC Bar Code Entry service function.
    • The scan tool will verify that the numbers entered are valid and display a message if the information is not correct.
