Key Programming Using Diagnostic Equipment: Programming

  1. WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure, refer to HEALTH AND SAFETY PRECAUTIONS Safety Warnings in General Information. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

  2. NOTE: To enter the PATS  security access if no programmed passive keys are available, start a vehicle session using a tear tag or PCM  part number. The PATS  security access can still be granted even with the ignition off.

  3. From the diagnostic scan tool, enter TOOLBOX. Select Body>Security>PATS Functions and follow the on-screen instructions to enter PATS  security access.
  4. NOTE: A maximum of 8 keys can be programmed into the vehicle.

    From the diagnostic scan tool menu, select the appropriate key programming procedure and follow the on-screen instructions to program the passive key(s).
