Fuel System Pressure Check: Check
WARNING:
Before beginning any service procedure in this article, refer to GASOLINE AND GASOLINE-ETHANOL FUEL SYSTEMS HEALTH AND SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.
- Refer to: GASOLINE AND GASOLINE-ETHANOL FUEL SYSTEMS HEALTH AND SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .
- Release the fuel system pressure.
Refer to: FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE .
- Disconnect the battery ground cable.
Refer to: BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT - PLUG-IN HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE (PHEV) .
Refer to: BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT - HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE (HEV) .
- Remove the Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe.
Refer to: AIR CLEANER OUTLET PIPE .
- Disconnect the fuel tube-to-fuel jumper tube spring lock coupling.
Refer to: SPRING LOCK COUPLINGS .
- Install the Fuel Pressure Test Adapter and the Fuel Pressure Test Kit between the fuel tube and the fuel jumper tube.
Special Tool(s): 310-D009 (D95L-7211-A) Fuel Pressure Test Kit

NOTE: The FPDM electrical connector was previously disconnected to release the fuel system pressure and must be reconnected to test the fuel system pressure.
Reconnect the FPDM electrical connector.
- Reinstall the Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe.
Refer to: AIR CLEANER OUTLET PIPE .
- Connect the battery ground cable.
Refer to: BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT - PLUG-IN HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE (PHEV) .

NOTE: Carry out a ignition ON engine OFF visual inspection for fuel leaks prior to completing the fuel system pressure test.NOTE: After completing the fuel system pressure test, open the drain valve on the Fuel Pressure Test Kit and release any residual fuel into a suitable container prior to removing the tool.
Test the fuel system pressure to make sure it is within the specified range.
