Remote Function Actuator (RFA) Module: Installation

- Install the RFA
module.
- Install the RFA
module nuts.
- Tighten to 3 Nm (27 lb-in).
- Connect the RFA module electrical connectors.
- Install the RFA
module nuts.
- Install the glove box. Refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL AND CONSOLE .
- Download the RFA module configuration information from the scan tool to the new RFA module by following the scan tool on screen instructions.

NOTE: The PMI process does not include the Intelligent Access (IA) key programming into the new RFA module. After the PMI process has been completed, the Intelligent Access (IA) keys need to be programmed into the new RFA module during ignition off. Refer to ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM - PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM (PATS) WITH INTELLIGENT ACCESS . After the Intelligent Access (IA) keys have been programmed into the new RFA module, the ignition must be turned to the ON mode in order to reset the parameters. Refer to ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM - PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM (PATS) WITH INTELLIGENT ACCESS .
Program the Intelligent Access (IA) keys into the new RFA module. Refer to ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM - PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM (PATS) WITH INTELLIGENT ACCESS .
- It may be necessary to configure the factory set 5-digit permanent entry code from the BCM into the new RFA module. A new RFA module does not come equipped with a factory set 5-digit permanent entry code and the entry code from the BCM must be configured into the new RFA module in order for the entry codes in both the RFA module and the BCM to match. If the entry codes do not match (or the entry code in the RFA module is missing), the keyless entry keypad may not operate correctly. Refer to HANDLES, LOCKS, LATCHES AND ENTRY SYSTEMS - WITH INTELLIGENT ACCESS . This may not occur during PMI .
