Transmission Fluid Cooler Tubes: Installation

Vehicles with an auxiliary transmission fluid cooler 

4. Install the front bumper cover. Refer to BUMPERS .
5. • Tighten to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).
6. Visual check. Apply the specified lubricant to the specified component.

   Material: Motorcraft® MERCON® LV Automatic Transmission Fluid XT-10-QLVC.

   1. Backing ring (7J324)
   2. Seal (7D258)
   • Tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
7. • Tighten to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).
8. • Tighten to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).

   Vehicles without an auxiliary transmission fluid cooler 

9. Visual check. Apply the specified lubricant to the specified component.

   Material: Motorcraft® MERCON® LV Automatic Transmission Fluid XT-10-QLVC.

   1. Backing ring (7J324)
   2. Seal (7D258)
   • Tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).

   All Vehicles 

10. Visual check. Apply the specified lubricant to the specified component.

    • Tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
11. Visual check. Apply the specified lubricant to the specified component.

    • Tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
12. Install the battery tray. Refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
14. Fill the transmission with fluid and verify correct operation. Refer to AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE - 6F35 .
