Key Programming Using Diagnostic Equipment

    WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure in this service information, refer to Safety Warnings in SERVICE INFORMATION General Information. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.
  1. Refer to: HEALTH AND SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .
  2. NOTE: To enter the PATS security access if no programmed passive keys are available, start a vehicle session using a tear tag or PCM part number. The PATS security access can still be granted even with the ignition off.
  3. Refer to: DIAGNOSTIC METHODS ).
  4. From the diagnostic scan tool, enter TOOLBOX. Select Body > Security > PATS Functions and follow the on-screen instructions to enter PATS security access.
  5. NOTE: A maximum of 8 keys can be programmed into the vehicle.
  6. From the diagnostic scan tool menu, select the appropriate key programming procedure and follow the on-screen instructions to program the passive key(s).
