Diagnostic Aids

When this DTC is set the EPAS performance will be degraded. Depending on the vehicles operating condition when this DTC is set the EPAS system may fail to power up, operating only in manual steering mode or will operate in reduced assist mode.

The presence of DTC will prevent the active park assist system (if equipped) from activating. If set during an active park assist event, the event will be terminated and the active park assist system will deactivate. The message center displays STEERING ASSIST MALFUNCTION SERVICE REQUIRED.

If this DTC sets while the vehicle is moving, steering assist is provided until the vehicle speed is less than 3 km/h (2 mph).
