The ISS sensor 1 is attached to the transmission housing. The spacer washer provides a defined distance between the sensor and the transmitter wheel. The spacer washer has a thickness of 3.5 mm ± 0.05 mm.
The sensor detects the rotational speed via the third gear wheel of the input shaft (core shaft (odd gears)). It is a magneto-resistive sensor which measures the rotational speed and the direction of rotation. The signal is processed via internal electronics and forwarded to the TCM.
