Digital Signal Processing (DSP)

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2014 Ford Focus. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The Sony® audio system provides theatre quality sound in the vehicle. Audio signals are sent from the ACM  to the audio DSP  module. The audio DSP  module processes the audio signals and sends them to the speakers.

The audio DSP  module determines the correct audio environment based on the audio signals and network messages it receives from other audio system modules. These messages include such information as fade/balance and speed compensated volume settings.
