Powertrain Control Module (PCM): Removal

  1. Refer to: JACKING AND LIFTING - OVERVIEW .
  2. NOTE: Powertrain Control Module (PCM) installation DOES NOT require new keys or programming of keys, only a Parameter Reset of the PATS  .
    NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.

    Download the module information to the diagnostic tool using the Programmable Modules Installation routine. Refer to: MODULE CONFIGURATION - SYSTEM OPERATION AND COMPONENT DESCRIPTION .

    Use the General Equipment: Ford Diagnostic Equipment

  3. Remove the LH fender splash shield.

    Refer to: FENDER SPLASH SHIELD .
