Powertrain Control Module (PCM): Installation

Torque: 27 lb.in (3 Nm)
Install the LH fender splash shield.
Refer to: FENDER SPLASH SHIELD .
NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.

Upload the module information from the diagnostic tool using the Programmable Modules Installation routine.

Use the General Equipment: Ford Diagnostic Equipment
- Reprogram the PATS . Carry out the Parameter Reset procedure. For vehicles without Intelligent Access (IA).
  Refer to: PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM (PATS) PARAMETER RESET .
- Reprogram the PATS . Carry out the Parameter Reset procedure. For vehicles with Intelligent Access (IA).
  Refer to: PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM (PATS) PARAMETER RESET .
After completing the repairs, perform the Misfire Monitor Neutral Profile Correction procedure.
