Pinpoint Test Z: DTC U0300: Internal Control Module Software Incompatibility: Notes

The PSCM runs a self test when the ignition is set to ON and the module is receiving at least 6 volts. The self test compares the software in the module to the steering gear hardware. If the 2 items are not compatible, the EPAS enters a manual steering mode and sends a request to the instrument cluster message center to alert the vehicle occupants and sends an EPAS_FAILURE message to other modules on the CAN.
