Pinpoint Test C: SELECTSHIFT™
- C1 RETRIEVE AND RECORD ALL DTCS
- Using the diagnostic scan tool, retrieve all Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
IS DTC P0815 or P0816 present?
- Yes : If DTC P0815 is present, GO to C2
- No : If DTC P0816 is present, GO to C7
- C2 CHECK THE UPSHIFT SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR VOLTAGE
- Disconnect Floor Shifter C3245 .
- Inspect for damaged or pushed-out terminals.
- Ignition ON.
- Measure the voltage
between.
Positive Lead Measurement/Action Negative Lead C3245-9 Ground
Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?
- Yes : GO to C5
- No : GO to C3
- C3 CHECK THE UPSHIFT SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect TCM C1750A .
- Inspect for damaged or pushed-out terminals.
- Measure the resistance
between.
Positive Lead Measurement/Action Negative Lead C1750A-9 C3245-9
Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
- Yes : GO to C4
- No : REPAIR the circuit.
- C4 CHECK THE UPSHIFT SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
Is the resistance greater than 10, 000 ohms?
- Yes : GO to C6
- No : REPAIR the circuit.
- C5 CHECK THE SIGNAL RETURN CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?
- Yes : GO to C6
- No
: REPAIR the circuit. If an open circuit is not found, INSTALL a new TCM
.
REFER to: TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (TCM) .
- C6 CHECK THE SELECTSHIFT™ SWITCH
- Disconnect SelectShift™ connector in the selector lever assembly.
- Measure the component side resistance
while cycling the SelectShift™ upshift switch between.
Positive Lead Measurement/Action Negative Lead C3245-9 C3245-8
Is the resistance less than 1.5 ohms with upshift selected and greater than 10, 000 ohms when released?
- Yes
: CHECK OASIS
for any applicable TSB
. If a TSB
exists for this concern, discontinue this test and follow the TSB
instructions. If no TSB
address this concern, INSTALL a new TCM
.
REFER to: TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (TCM) .
- No
: INSTALL a new selector lever knob.
REFER to: SELECTOR LEVER KNOB .
- C7 CHECK THE DOWNSHIFT SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR VOLTAGE
- Disconnect Floor Shifter C3245 .
- Inspect for damaged or pushed-out terminals.
- Ignition ON.
- Measure the voltage
between.
Positive Lead Measurement/Action Negative Lead C3245-10 Ground
Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?
- Yes : GO to C10
- No : GO to C8
- C8 CHECK THE DOWNSHIFT SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect TCM C1750A .
- Inspect for damaged or pushed-out terminals.
- Measure the resistance
between.
Positive Lead Measurement/Action Negative Lead C1750A-10 C3245-10
Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
- Yes : GO to C9
- No : REPAIR the circuit.
- C9 CHECK THE DOWNSHIFT SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
Is the resistance greater than 10, 000 ohms?
- Yes : GO to C10
- No : REPAIR the circuit.
- C10 CHECK THE SIGNAL RETURN CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?
- Yes : GO to C11
- No
: REPAIR the circuit. If an open circuit is not found, INSTALL a new TCM
.

- C11 CHECK THE SELECTSHIFT™ SWITCH
- Disconnect SelectShift™ connector in the selector lever assembly.
