The clearing of continuous DTCs allows the scan tool to command the PCM to clear and reset all emission related diagnostic information. Clearing the DTCs from the vehicle specific continuous memory DTC menu clears all systems, including the OBD systems. Clearing the DTCs from the OBD generic menu only clears OBD features.
