Audio Front Control Module (ACM)

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2013 Ford Mustang. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The Audio Front Control Module (ACM) operates with the ignition in RUN or ACC. The accessory delay feature allows the audio system to be operated for a preset period of time after the key is turned off and a door has not been opened. The ACM sends AC voltage audio signals to the speakers or to the amplifiers, depending on vehicle configuration. The ACM produces its own DTCs, which are communicated to the scan tool through the Medium Speed Controller Area Network (MS-CAN). The enable/clip circuit is used to turn on the audio DSP amplifier or subwoofer amplifier, depending on vehicle configuration, and to monitor an overload condition of the amplifiers. In the event of an overload, the ACM clips the audio output signal to the amplifier (heard as distortion).
