Battery Saver
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2013 Ford Mustang. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
Time-out is 1 minute if the vehicle has less than 80 km (50 miles).
The battery saver is internal to the SJB and provides automatic shut-off of the courtesy and demand lamp after 10 minutes in order to save battery voltage.
The SJB provides automatic shut-off of the courtesy and demand lamps after a time-out period in order to save battery voltage. A timer in the SJB is started when the ignition is turned OFF and all the doors are closed. When 10 minutes have elapsed, the voltage is automatically shut off to the lamps by the SJB. While the SJB has voltage disabled, the timer resets if any of the following occur:
- The ignition state is changed to any position other than OFF.
- Any door becomes ajar.
- The UNLOCK button of the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter is pressed.
- The instrument panel dimmer switch is placed in the DOME LAMP position.
- The headlamp switch is placed in the PARKING LAMPS or HEADLAMPS ON position.
- The multifunction switch is placed in the FLASH-TO-PASS position.
- The key is inserted into the ignition lock cylinder.
