Transfer Case Fluid Level Check

1. 1.
   
   Follow the health and safety precautions. Refer to: Health and Safety Precautions .

1. 2.
   
   With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .

1. 3.
   
   If equipped. Remove the retainers and the underbody shield.

   Remove the PTU (Power Transfer Unit) fill plug.

   Fill the PTU with clean fluid, level with the fill plug opening.

   Material: Motorcraft ® SAE 75W-140 Synthetic Rear Axle Lubricant / XY-75W140-QL (WSL-M2C192-A)

   Install the PTU fill plug.

   Torque: 33 lb.ft (45 Nm)

   If equipped. Install the underbody shield.
