Pinpoint Test G : The One-Touch Up/Down Feature Is Inoperative
NOTE:
Use the correct probe adapter(s) from the Flex Probe Kit when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.
- G1 CHECK FOR POWER (B+) LOSS DURING WINDOW OPERATION
- Ignition ON.
- Verify if power (B+) was lost during window operation.
Was power (B+) lost while the front window was in operation?
Yes RAISE the front window to the fully closed position. VERIFY the window glass stalls into the upper header seal. The window should function normally. TEST the system for normal operation. No For LH front window, GO to G2. For RH front window (SEL or Limited only), GO to G4. - G2 DE-INITIALIZE, THEN INITIALIZE THE LH FRONT WINDOW MOTOR
- De-initialize the LH front window motor, then carry out the window motor initialization procedure. Refer to Window Motor Initialization .
Is the one-touch up feature operating correctly?
Yes The system is operating normally at this time. The LH front window motor lost initialization. No GO to G3. - G3 CHECK THE MASTER WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: LH Front Window Motor C524.
- While pressing and releasing the master window control switch, measure the voltage
between:
Positive Lead Negative Lead Pin Circuit Pin Circuit C524-4 CPW11 (BU/GY) - Ground C524-5 CPW10 (YE/VT) - Ground
NOTE: Voltage should be present on both circuits in each of the tested switch positions. Are the voltages greater than 11 volts when the window control switch is fully pressed in UP and DOWN positions?
Yes INSTALL a new LH front window regulator motor. REFER to Window Regulator Motor - Front Door . INITIALIZE the window motor. REFER to Window Motor Initialization . TEST the system for normal operation. No INSTALL a new master window control switch. REFER to Window Control Switch . TEST the system for normal operation. - G4 DE-INITIALIZE, THEN INITIALIZE THE RH FRONT WINDOW MOTOR
- De-initialize the RH front window motor, then carry out the window motor initialization procedure. Refer to Window Motor Initialization .
- Verify the RH front window operation from the master window control switch and also the RH front window control switch.
Does the one-touch up/down feature operate correctly from both the master window control switch and RH front window control switch?
Yes The system is operating normally at this time. The RH front window motor lost initialization. No If the one-touch up/down feature is inoperative from only one switch, INSTALL a new window control switch in question. REFER to Window Control Switch . TEST the system for normal operation. If the one-touch up/down feature is inoperative from both switches, INSTALL a new RH front window regulator motor. REFER to Window Regulator Motor - Front Door . INITIALIZE the window motor. REFER to Window Motor Initialization . TEST the system for normal operation.
