Pinpoint Test G : The Rain Sensitive Wiper Feature Is Inoperative: Notes
The Rain Sensitive Wiper Feature Is Inoperative
Refer to Wiring Diagrams WIPERS AND WASHERS for schematic and connector information.
Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
REFER to: Wipers and Washers - System Operation and Component Description
BCM DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
| DTC | Description | Fault Trigger Conditions |
|---|---|---|
| B10AD:83 | Rain Sensor: Value of Signal Protection Calculation Incorrect | Sets when the BCM receives corrupt data from the rain sensor. |
| B10AD:87 | Rain Sensor: Missing Message | Sets when the BCM determines a communication error has occurred on the LIN. This may be caused by an open in the rain sensor power or ground circuit or an open in the LIN circuit between the rain sensor and the BCM. |
| B129A:86 | LIN Bus "D": Signal Invalid | Sets when the BCM receives corrupt data from the rain sensor. |
| B129A:88 | LIN Bus "D": Bus Off | Sets when the BCM determines a communication error has occurred on the LIN. This may be caused by an open, short to ground or short to voltage in the LIN circuit between the rain sensor and the BCM. |
Possible Causes
- Fuse
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- Foreign material on windshield, such as dirt, dust or bugs
- Wiper blades
- Windshield glass
- Wiper/washer switch
- Rain sensor
- SASM
- BCM
Visual Inspection and Diagnostic Pre-checks
- Inspect the BCM fuse 5 (5A).
- Inspect the windshield for damage.
- Inspect the rain sensor mounting for damage.
